The NYC Winter Jazzfest turns 12-years old in 2016 and each year the festival keeps getting bigger and better with some of the most important names in jazz making it their winter stop.  The festival will feature over 120 groups on 12 stages and the festival pass provides an extraordinary experience to walk around Greenwich Village and have the opportunity to walk into any of the festival venues to hear some of the best performers in jazz. This year the festival has a new partner with The School of Jazz at New School providing five more stages during the massive two-day marathon schedule.

The festival will host a fundraising concert Jazz Legends for Disability Pride on Thursday, January 14th 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm featuring an all-star lineup of guests including Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, Christian McBride, George Coleman, Monty Alexander, Bill Charlap and many others.

Disability Pride NYC is a not for profit started by Jazz pianist/organist Mike LeDonne whose 11-year-old daughter, Mary, is disabled. Our goal is to instill a sense of pride in the community and change the public perception of people with disabilities. One of the ways we will accomplish this goal is by establishing an annual Disability Pride parade in New York City. We aim to support people with disabilities in whatever way we can.

The two-day marathon which begins on Friday will feature such artists as Vijay Iyer Trio, Mark Turner Quartet, Chris Potter Quartet, Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, Butler, Bernstein and the Hot 9, the Yellowjackets, Kaki King, Tierney Sutton and many, many more.
